MOAABudget.jpgMOAA will be hosting a virtual Town Hall on March 6, 2014 at 7 PM EST. We will bring in experts to discuss the Pentagon's budget, how it will affect the military community, and what can be done to protect your earned benefits.

Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) will host a national virtual Town Hall meeting with staff experts so military families can learn more about the military budget. Representatives from IAVA, ALA and #KeepYourPromise will join moderator Ward Carroll of Military.com to field questions and address concerns.

MOAASheild2.jpg“While MOAA empathizes with defense leaders concerning budget cutbacks and agrees the sequester must be undone, we are concerned about the out of pocket losses our military families may be expected to endure,” MOAA President Norb Ryan said. “We hear a lot about slowing the growth, but the growth of personnel and health costs in the military have slowed already over the last four years and are only 1.99% of the military budget.”

The Town Hall will take place from 7 pm to 8 pm EST on Thursday, March 6. It will be hosted live at MOAA headquarters in Alexandria, VA and broadcast on MOAA's Facebook Page.

“Military.com is pleased to play a part in helping promote and host this important virtual gathering for military families,” Military.com Editor Ward Carroll said.  “We hope to help shine light on important information and answer questions to help military families understand what is being proposed and what they can do about it.”

Participate at https://bit.ly/moaabudgetbattle or follow the discussion on Twitter at hashtag #BudgetBattle.  If you have questions about the budget and how it might impact your family, we encourage you to post them on MOAA's Facebook page. They'll try to address as many as possible during the Town Hall.
