Recently I have started a new hobby that not only gives me something to do but takes little time away from my family. Beer Brewing! It lets me be creative and still allows me to spend time with my family, especially my daughters. The reason this hobby is great for stay-at-home-dads, that love beer that is, is because it takes only an hour or so to brew the beer. Then you cool it and put the fermenter and let it sit. Usually for at least 2-3 weeks depending on the beer you are making. Afterwards you do some tedious cleaning and that is the initial time consuming parts. You put the fermenting beer away in a dark quite place for those few weeks. Within that time you can spend tons of time with the family. Once those weeks are done you do the finishing touches to bottle your own brew. My last batch yielded 42 12oz bottles which I still have a few and this was about 2-3 months ago. So not only does it give you more time with the family but it last awhile and if you have a local place to buy ingredients then it can cost less as some other hobbies. This is just one of my hobbies that I can share with my friends a fellow beer lovers alike.
