Glen Mixon is a Texas native who joined the US Army in 1988 as a Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanicwhere he met his future wife Jennifer, who had just enlisted in the US Air Force.  They married in 1990.  After honorably serving our nation for 4 years, Glen went on to attend Clovis Community College where he was awarded multiple scholarships, made the Dean's List and eventually earned a Certificate in Automotive Technology (1994).  All while supporting his active-duty Air Force wife and raising their one, and only, son Zachary.

Glen has enjoyed a long and successful career in the automotive industry and is an A.S.E Certified mechanic with bumper to bumper repair experience that spans more than twenty years.  He also has gained invaluable experience in inventory management and vehicle readiness for combat deployment.  Glen career focus is in electrical diagnosis, solving drivability issues, and resolving climate (heating and air conditioning) problems with ten years of specialty experience diagnosing and repairing Volvo products.  He is also proud of his solid working knowledge of BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Porsche, VW, Audi, Toyota and Honda and significant experience with engine overhauls and rebuilds.  In short, if you are having automotive problems, go see Glen in San Antonio.

Glen has channeled the same passion and work-ethic from his successful 20+ years in the automotive industry, into helping those who are in need, with an emphasis towards the military community. Through his personal experiences and years of work, Glen understands the everyday struggles that face military spouses, families and veterans during their service.  This is what makes Glen a powerful advocate for military family support.  In fact, Glen became the first MALE Key Spouse in the 58th Special Operations Wing history and this is where he shined, as the liaison between commanders and spouses.  During his time as a Key Spouse, Glen helped with the marketing of this program through fundraising, awareness campaigns, community activities, administrating an online spouse support page, and volunteering at the Airman's Attic.  Glen continues to mentor many young military spouses and families, some of which have never been away from home before, and we are proud to have him as part of the Macho Spouse Career Advisement Board.
